Dr. Miller is a board-certified cardiologist and Chief of Medicine at the Corporal Michael J Crescenz VAMC and Professor of Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He completed medical school at Rutgers, internal medicine residency at the University of Cincinnati and fellowships in lipoprotein metabolism and cardiovascular disease at Johns Hopkins. He recently relocated from Baltimore where he served as Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine, Epidemiology & Public Health at the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
Dr. Miller is a Fellow of the American Heart Association (AHA), American College of Cardiology (ACC), American Society of Preventive Cardiology and National Lipid Association. He is past president of the American Society of Preventive Cardiology, past Chair of the AHA Council on Clinical Lipidology and served on the AHA National Leadership Council. He is a member of the ACC Lifestyle & Nutrition Workgroup and Secretary of the American Board of Clinical Lipidology involved in certification and recertification of health care professionals and clinicians interested in disorders of lipids and lipoproteins.
Dr. Miller has published more than 350 original articles, book chapters and reviews and is the co-author of 3 books, “The Practice of Coronary Disease Prevention” (1996, Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, Baltimore, MD), “The American Medical Association Guide to Preventing and Treating Heart Disease” (2008, Wiley & Sons, Philadelphia, PA) and “Heal Your Heart” (2014, Penguin Random House, New York City, NY).
